Rolls-Royce, McLaren, and Bentley. How best to accommodate these three ultra-luxe brands all in one sales facility? That’s the challenge the Dimmitt Automotive Group had when it turned to Suncoast to design and build a unique dealership that would incorporate three distinct manufacturer-approved showrooms under one roof. Cooper Johnson Smith Architects interpreted the owner’s vision of a building that imparts the appealing qualities of historic Palm Beach architecture, but at the same time provides a dramatic, open, and light-filled interior enhanced with imported limestone floors and African sapele tree wood finishes. The design also takes its inspiration from the great train stations of the 19th and early 20th centuries, where buildings combined classical passenger reception areas with dramatic glass-roofed, iron, and steel-structured train halls; the effect is an architecture that is both timeless and innovative. Vehicle maintenance with concierge service is provided to Dimmitt’s clientele at its adjacent service facility.

By working harder, smarter and faster, Suncoast took this project from groundbreaking to C.O. in a little over seven months. The sustainable, LEED-certifiable custom-designed residence has the appearance of a large home featuring 20-foot high ceilings, yet with no space wasted in its 3,885 sf floor plan. The home, which was designed for the way people live today, focuses on gathering spaces rather than small, formal rooms. Everything in the home has a specific purpose, including the structural beams in the great room. Incorporation of the latest technology with the architectural elements of the past make this home unique in both concept and design.
